I've read all of these except for Dracula and I've only seen the film version of the Scarlet Pimpernel. All fantastic picks though! I always knew you had good taste...:) My only disagreement is with Harry Potter 6 - #3 was my personal favorite! Books rule.
As of last Saturday I have watched about four Indian (Bollywood) films and am watching another one tonight. I don't know what happened, but I recently discovered these cinematic gems and love them to death! (Seriously they are so good.) But why you may ask? I think the reason why, besides the fact that they are musicals with singing and dancing in them, is the raw emotion that each movie evokes. These movies are literally tear-jerking! Sometimes they do come across as a little melodramatic and almost soap opera-ish, but I think the drama and cheesiness adds to the endearing nature of them! My favorites so far have been Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Aaja Nachle . The first film is one of India's most popular Bollywood films and I highly recommend it. The second is not as widely acclaimed, but it is still so good! Another reason why I think I like them so much is the complete and utter romance of the storylines. These movies (at least the ones that I've wa...
Alright so my blog still has the title 'The Littlest Redhead goes to London', but 1) I don't know how to make a just-as-cute heading and 2) I can't bear the thought of getting rid of it...I just love London that much! Also, it has been awhile since I have written! All I can say is that life got crazy! I came back and after I posted the last time in September, I became really busy with school, folk dance, and yes, dating. However, now that it is summer time again (on BYU's schedule), I find I have more time to blog! So I will update you all on what is currently going on in my life and how things are looking for the summer. As most of you know, I am a member of the International Folk Dance Company at BYU, and presently I am a member of the Spring Performing Arts Company (or SPAC as you will hear me call it), which basically serves as the Back-up Tour Team for the Company. (I also recently tried ou...
Well, it has been about a month and a half since I have been home from Britain and I am having serious withdrawals. (It also doesn't help that at the moment I am watching 'North & South', a film based in England...). I have been thinking a lot about what I learned on my trip, sort of as a way to say goodbye to Great Britain. Obviously it has taken me a long time to think of exactly what I want to say. :) One thing I miss greatly is the hustle and bustle of London life. The more time that passed while I lived there, the more I felt like it had become my home. Brooke and I often joked that Soho was our place. I also loved the connection I felt with Scotland because of my family ties to it. When we went we to the Battlefield of Culloden, I was overcome with emotion when I thought that MY past ancestors had fought for freedom right where I was standing. The th...
